Melbourne JoomldaDay 2010 is a conference that spins around the most popular Open Source Content Management System Joomla!. Organised by the Melbourne Joomla User Group, this year's programme focusses on workshops and conveying practical knowledge to Joomla users at all levels. Presentations are extended to 45-90 minutes each maximising learning outcomes with easy to follow walkthroughs for each topic.

Our annual conference provides unparalleled opportunities for individuals, small companies and corporations to fast track their knowledge of Joomla. All sessions are taught by Joomla core or component developers or very experienced Joomla professionals.

  • Beginners will get a thorough introduction on how to set up their first Joomla site.
  • Content administrators learn tips and tricks that makes their lives easier when it comes to the daily tasks of managing a content rich site.
  • Designers gain deep and practical knowledge on how to develop custom templates, how the Joomla framework works and what tools to use to best dress their artwork in a Joomla template.
  • Developers, how often do you have a chance to learn directly from the Masters of Joomla? Tap into the knowledge and secrets of Andrew Eddie and Sam Moffatt during Fri and Sat presentations or add their special courses on Sun.

Friday, 12 Feb 2010

This first day of the conference is dedicated to presentations about using Joomla's super-power in education, Schools, not for profit organisations and in government.

Our presenters provide an understanding of the full process from developing the project brief for complex websites to meeting those requirements by implementing Joomla and its components.

Friday is designed for delegates with any knowledge of Joomla and followed by networking drinks. If you are looking for new ideas and answers or just an introduction to Joomla, every person versed or not in web development will enjoy Fri afternoon. And if you want to build your Joomla network with colleagues, clients and developers, join us for a refreshment afterwards.

Friday can be booked separately for only $15.00.
