Andrew-Eddie
Andrew Eddie - Core Developer - JXtended

Andrew Eddie is the longest serving developer for the Joomla project and is able to provide strategic insight for development projects that can be offered by few other people in the world. As well as coding Joomla 1.6, Andrew also runs a Joomla consultancy NewLifeinIT, The Art of Joomla developer tutorials and blogs and partners with jXtended to offer Joomla extensions. Andrew will be offering insights in to Joomla 1.6, template over-rides, Joomla 2.0 and other technical delights.

Sam-Moffatt
Sam Moffatt - Core Developer

Sam, of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, is the youngest member of the development team. He is currently studying IT and has been working with Mambo (now Joomla) since early 2004. His work came to the fore with the Google SOC and his update system, which has now been included in Joomla. Sam also authors the JAuthTools project, which provides LDAP support for Joomla 1.0 and 1.5.

Brad Baker - Site and Infrastructure Coordinator - Rochen Hosting

It all started in October 2003, when Brad stumbled upon Mambo in his quest for an easy to use CMS. By 2004 he was on the Core Team looking after forum administration. Since then his responsibilities have broadened to encompass looking after all the Joomla! websites and infrastructure.

Brad has years of experience in the web hosting industry. As well as running his own local Webhosting and design business he also works for Rochen.

Brenden Worley - Mediart

Mediart Solutions started developing websites in Joomla before it was an accepted practice to use Open Source CMS as a base for all commercial websites. Meanwhile, Mediart has established more than 120 Joomla sites. Amongst them Mediart has been servicing the catholic education network for 2.5 years. Mediart hosts and supports over 70 catholic school sites from the Sandhurst, Ballarat and Sale diocese. They also develop full websites for Public Schools like Shepparton High School and Yarrawonga Secondary College.

Ian Stewart - Office of the Premier of Victoria

Ian Stewart is the Web Manager of the Premier of Victoria's website. Ian started working on websites in 1997 in various technical roles with the now Department of Sustainability and  Environment. Recently Ian was with Multimedia Victoria researching virtual worlds and developing the first Second Life site for Victorian government. Ian has managed the Premier's website since its launch in early 2008.

Ian will be speaking about selecting and implementing Joomla and the impact on the Victorian Government. As well as running the Premier of Victoria's website, linking with social media and next steps.

Raoul-Callaghan
Raoul Callaghan - Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI)

Raoul is the I.T. Manager at AMSI and first started using Joomla in 2005 when AMSI was being founded. AMSI initially used static web pages but as it grew, it was evident that managing static content would no longer satisfy AMSI's needs.

Since that time Raoul has embraced the Joomla community and offers up AMSI's facilities each month to host the Melbourne Joomla User Group (MJUG) meetings.

Azrul Rahim - Lead Developer - JomSocial

Azrul Rahim, 30, holds an information system engineering degree from Imperial College, London. He worked as an investment analyst for Permodalan Nasional Berhad, one of Malaysia's largest investment company before starting his first software development company in 2004 called Pocketcraft Software Sdn Bhd, specialising in mobile application development.

He started Slashes and Dots Sdn Bhd in 2007. The initial products were MyBlog and JomComment, the blogging and comment components developed using Joomla. He is now the Lead Developer of the JomSocial project and spend his day either coding, hiring new talent or answer customer support request at JomSocial forum.

Norm loves technology. He has always built web sites even from as early as 1997. Whilst researching and trying to develop his own rudimentary CMS from php, Norm stumbled upong Mambo the precursor of Joomla.

Seeing the benefits not only to him as a developer but also to his clients, Norm immediately set about learning everything he could about PHP, MYSQL, CSS, CMS and ultimately Joomla.

Norm's broad range of IT experience and skills come together to make him an excellent all round tutor.  Not happy with just "showing" you how to do x and y, Norm will explain concepts to your.  His goal is to help as many people as he can become better developers, webmasters, content managers or just contributors as he can, so that the Open Source community may grow larger.

After years in the dark world of Microsoft database programming, Pete saw the light and became an Open Source / Joomla disciple.  For the honour and acclaim (for which he is still waiting), he developed the component Jix (for import, export & update of Joomla databases).  He remains a devout Open Source believer and hopes soon to discover that it really does work after all.  Pete makes a mean but honest living writing component and plugin code to customise Joomla sites.
